A Hard Loss To Keiser For The Blue Devils.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Lawrence Tech converted three man-up chances and finished with 12 saves in goal, but Keiser used a dominant first-half surge to hand the Blue Devils an 18-4 road loss in non-conference women's lacrosse action Wednesday.

Keiser seized control early and never trailed, scoring the game's first three goals in the opening quarter and building a 10-goal cushion by halftime. The Seahawks outscored Lawrence Tech 3-0 in the first quarter and 7-2 in the second to lead 10-2 at the break, then added five goals in the third and three more in the fourth to keep the Blue Devils at arm's length the rest of the way.

Lawrence Tech generated most of its offense in special situations, going 3-for-4 on man-up and free-position opportunities. Alyson Walendzak put the Blue Devils on the board in the second quarter with a power-play strike, finishing off a feed from Morgan Waligora to cut into the early deficit. In the third quarter, Bella Louwerse added another man-up goal, Waligora closed the scoring for Lawrence Tech with a late tally at 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Offensively, the Blue Devils finished with four goals and three assists on 20 total shots, including 15 shots on goal. Lawrence Tech also showed composure in transition, successfully clearing the ball on 15 of 23 attempts against Keiser's pressure. The Blue Devils collected 16 ground balls on the day and forced 17 Keiser turnovers, but the hosts controlled possession by holding a decisive 18-5 edge on draw controls.

In net, the Lawrence Tech goalkeepers combined for 12 saves against 30 Keiser shots on goal. Despite the high shot volume, the unit helped the Blue Devils limit Keiser to three or fewer goals in two separate quarters and produced several key stops that slowed the Seahawks' momentum, particularly in settled defensive sets.

The Seahawks finished with 18 goals and 11 assists on 34 shots and converted all five of their power-play opportunities.

The Blue Devils continue their road stretch as they turn back to conference and regional preparation later this week, looking to build on their man-up execution and clearing efficiency from Wednesday's contest at home in Southfield, Mich. at Blue Devil Stadium against Indiana Tech March 14.
